Quote approvals — if you approve a quote online, we record the name you type, the date and time, your IP address and browser, and a copy of the quote exactly as it appeared to you. We keep this as the record of what was agreed.
Usage data — pages visited, time spent, referring URL, browser type, and device type, collected automatically via Google Analytics. We do not run analytics on your quote page.

We do not collect payment information. Any future transactions are handled by third-party processors subject to their own privacy policies.

We use Google Analytics to understand site usage. Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser to collect anonymous usage data. You can opt out by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on or by adjusting your browser’s cookie settings.

Researching business enquiries

When you make an enquiry, we may look up publicly available information to help us understand your requirements before we call you back. This covers two things:

Your business — publicly available information about the business or farm named in your enquiry, such as a website, industry listing, or news article.
Your area — general information about the region, such as climate, rainfall, and the kinds of farming common there. This describes the area, not you.

We use only sources that are already public. We do not look at social media profiles, and we do not research you as an individual — only the business you tell us about and the area it is in.

This research is done automatically and is recorded with the source of every piece of information, so our staff can check it. It is used to prepare for our conversation with you. It is not shared outside Tinkera, not used for advertising, and not used to make any decision about you. We keep it for 13 months and then delete it.

Data retention

We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purpose it was collected for, or as required by law. Enquiry and subscriber data is retained until you request removal. Records of a quote you approved are kept as part of our business records. The link we email you to view a quote expires, and we delete the expired link itself after 90 days.

Under Australian Privacy Law (Privacy Act 1988) you have the right to:

Access the personal information we hold about you.
Request correction of inaccurate information.
Request deletion of your information.
Withdraw consent for marketing communications at any time.
